Tanuki (Asian) and Raccoons (Amercian) are not related. Tanuki are in te Canidae Family (related to dog),
and Raccoons are in the Procyonidae family (related to ring-tailed cats).

Raccoons are more agressive, while Tanuki prefer playing dead, running away, and screaming!

Raccoons are gray and know for their bandit-masked faces and striped tails.
Tanuki are brown, have a more panda-like facial mark, and their tails are not striped.
